Your Flower Carpet® Rose is going to help you to protect our precious environment, because it has been bred to eliminate the need for preventive chemical spraying or dusting. Count on its ultra-high natural disease resistance to defend it against black spot and mildew, the traditional rose scourges. Flower Carpet needs only a little basic care. Flower Carpet is disease resistant – not susceptible to mildew or black spot, as are other roses. Roses need to be kept moist at all times to promote flowering.

‘Flower Carpet’® is so easy and versatile. It can be planted out at any time of the year in any position around the house, from full sun to areas that receive only 3-4 hours of sun per day.

The more sunlight there is, the more flowers each plant will produce. Plant approximately 1 metre apart where there is at least 3 hours of sunlight a day.

Flower Carpet roses may be transplanted into pots, hanging baskets and planters of all types. It is important to recognise that Flower Carpet roses have a large root system and require a reasonably large container in which to grow comfortably. Containers must be at least 30cm across and reasonably deep.

Roses have spread around the world as one of the most loved garden plants. The flower of a rose spells romance, it is without equal.

Flower Carpet® roses come from an extensive breeding and selection programme conducted by Mr Werner Noak in Holland. His aim was to breed roses resistant to the disease scourges of roses and in particular black spot. His roses, marketed by Anthony Tesselaar International are showing his success.

Every Spring and Summer, feed with a slow release fertiliser, high in potash as directed. Aphids and mites may appear. If persistent, use a natural insecticide. No fancy pruning is required, shaping with shears can be done any time of the year. For best results, cut back to 15 -–20 cm from base in late winter. In extreme cold, protect as you would other roses through the first winter. Flower Carpet requires regular watering, particularly whilst in pots.

If allowed to dry out, the LEAVES will YELLOW and fall off. Just trim back the plant, re-water (soak thoroughly) or plant out in the garden and new growth will re-appear in 4-6 weeks.

Flower Carpet® roses are easy to transplant. They can be transplanted at any time of the year.
