Crystal Doll is every bit as hardy as is China Doll® and needs similar conditions to continue to look good. As a garden plant it will grow into a small tree. Pruning to limit size in the garden can be done at any time of the year but is best in the warmer months.

The leaves on Crystal Doll are heavily variegated with a golden yellow when grown in good light. In shade this colour changes to lime green.

In a garden situation we would expect the plant to grow to a similar size as does China Doll® (Radermachera sinica). One planted in a garden at Redland Bay in full sun is now 5 metres high after 4 years. It is slower growing than the green form both in the ground or when grown in a container.

Being slower growing in a container Crystal Doll will give you a more compact plant.

Whether as a small pot plant in a 14omm pot or larger in other containers Crystal Doll is such a bright stunning colour that it will stand out wherever it is planted.

All in our industry know Radermachera China Doll® a small tree native to China where it grows in cool mountain areas.

From one of the larger foliage growers in Holland we are introducing to Australia a golden beauty, Crystal Doll .

Fertilising with a balanced slow release fertiliser is necessary in Spring and late Summer. We have noted in growing trials that Crystal Doll will take drier conditions in a container without dropping leaves.
